1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Aurum Bar & Lounge (“Aurum,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, online booking and inquiry services, and your attendance at our physical premises located at 2831 Rozzelles Ferry Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28216.
By accessing our website, submitting a reservation or event inquiry, or visiting our establishment, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services or visit our premises.
2. Age Requirement and Alcohol Policy
Aurum is a bar and lounge that serves alcoholic beverages under permits issued by the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. The following policies apply to all guests:
- You must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcoholic beverages on our premises, in compliance with N.C. General Statutes Chapter 18B.
- Valid government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport) is required for entry and will be checked at the door. Aurum reserves the right to refuse entry or service to anyone who cannot produce a valid ID.
- Aurum will not knowingly serve alcohol to any person under the age of 21. Attempting to purchase alcohol while underage, or providing alcohol to a minor, is a violation of North Carolina law (G.S. § 18B-302).
- We reserve the right to refuse service to any guest who appears to be intoxicated, consistent with our obligations under North Carolina dram shop law (G.S. § 18B-305) and our duty to promote responsible alcohol service.
- Aurum does not permit guests to bring outside alcoholic beverages onto the premises unless expressly authorized.
3. Dress Code and Conduct
Aurum maintains a dress code and code of conduct to ensure a premium experience for all guests. The following standards apply:
- Aurum reserves the right to enforce a dress code at any time. Guests who do not comply may be denied entry without a refund of any cover charge or event deposit.
- Disruptive, aggressive, threatening, or illegal behavior will result in immediate removal from the premises. Law enforcement may be contacted where appropriate.
- Guests are responsible for their own behavior and the behavior of members of their party.
- Aurum is a smoke-free venue for cigarettes in non-designated areas. Hookah and cigar use is permitted only in designated areas and in accordance with applicable Mecklenburg County and City of Charlotte ordinances.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted on the premises.
4. Reservations and Event Bookings
4.1 Reservations
Reservations for seating, sections, and bottle service may be made through our website or by contacting us directly. Reservations are subject to availability and are not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from Aurum.
4.2 Event Deposits and Payments
Certain events, including birthday parties, corporate events, and tailgate packages, require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. Deposit amounts, payment terms, and package details will be communicated during the booking process.
- All deposits are non-refundable unless Aurum cancels the event.
- Remaining balances are due on the date of the event as specified in your event agreement.
- Aurum reserves the right to cancel or modify an event booking in the event of circumstances beyond our control (see Section 8, Force Majeure).
4.3 Cancellations by Guest
If you need to cancel or reschedule an event booking, please notify us as soon as possible. Cancellations with less than 72 hours’ notice forfeit the full deposit. Aurum may, at its sole discretion, allow rescheduling subject to availability.
4.4 Capacity and Attendance
All events are subject to maximum occupancy limits as established by the City of Charlotte Fire Marshal and applicable building codes. Aurum reserves the right to limit attendance to comply with these requirements.
5. Cover Charges and Entry Fees
Cover charges may apply on certain nights and for certain events. Cover charges are non-refundable once entry has been granted. Aurum reserves the right to implement, modify, or waive cover charges at its discretion. Announced cover charges and event prices are subject to change.
6. Photography and Recording
By entering Aurum’s premises, you consent to being photographed or recorded as part of the general ambiance of the venue. Aurum may use such images or recordings for promotional purposes, including on social media and marketing materials, without compensation to you.
Guests may not photograph, video record, or stream performances, DJ sets, or other copyrighted entertainment without prior written permission from Aurum and any applicable rights holders.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Aurum is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property brought onto the premises. Guests are advised to keep personal belongings secure at all times.
- Aurum is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website, services, or attendance at our venue.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid to Aurum in connection with the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits Aurum’s liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
8. Force Majeure
Aurum shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, government orders, public health emergencies, power outages, or other unforeseeable events. In such cases, Aurum will make reasonable efforts to notify you and, where possible, offer rescheduling or credit.
